The method behind the work

HERD: how we get the AI to say your name

The AI names who it reads. When a customer asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for a good business in your field, the engine reads a handful of web pages and answers from those. Get onto that reading list, be the clearest answer on it, and the AI names you. HERD is the four disciplines that make that happen, and the re-scan that proves it. Marketers call this GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) or answer engine optimisation. We call it herding.

  1. H · Home ground

Make sure the AI can read you at all

Your own site is home ground, and it has to be readable by the AI crawlers. We check your robots.txt for the ones businesses block by accident (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and the rest), make sure your key pages load fast and clean, and push new pages the moment they go live through IndexNow and Bing Webmaster. The engine can only name what it can fetch, so this comes first.

  2. E · Entity engineering

Teach the machine exactly who you are

Once the AI can read you, it needs to understand you. We add structured data (JSON-LD) that spells out your name, your services, your area and your prices in a form the machine can parse. We write answer-first pages that reply to the real buyer question in the first line, not three paragraphs down. And we keep your details consistent everywhere, because a confused machine names someone clearer.

  3. R · Reach

Get the rest of the web agreeing

The AI does not only read your site. It reads the directories, the review sites, the local listings and the articles that talk about your field. We get you onto the exact pages the engines already trust for your market, and we build the reviews and mentions that back up your claim. Marketers call this signal E-E-A-T: experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust. In plain terms, it is the web vouching for you.

  4. D · Defend & measure

    Prove it, then hold it

We do not ask you to take any of this on trust. The same tool that measured where you started re-runs the exact same questions after we publish, so you see the before and the after on each one. Then we keep watching, quarter by quarter, tracking your share of voice and catching the moment a rival tries to take a question back. Proof, not promises.

The whole thing in one line

Make your site the clearest thing the machines read, teach them who you are, get the wider web agreeing, then measure it. The letters just keep us honest about doing all four.

See where you stand today.

Before any of this, you need a baseline. Drop your website in and we'll run a free AI-visibility scan: where the AI names you, where it names a rival, and the terms worth winning first.
